Friend has a friend that hires for Chesapeake the natural gas company, hires people with any or no experience at $20 an hour, since they giving so much an hour w/o experience i know its got to be 1 hell of a hard job.
If i get lucky and get the job i know ill be outside probably building something to get the gas with, does anyone know what id be doing?
Chesapeake is an independent oil and natural gas company that is and has been extremely successful to at least the past 2 decades. No, i do not work for them…….. Their primary function is oil and gas exploration and production. They may have downstream gas distribution capabilities, but i am more aware of their upstream activities.
From the limited information you have provided ($20/hr and no experience), i am assuming that you would either be in the pipeline gang with the function of installing pipeline or in a roustabout gang doing routine maintenance on machinery and such. It is hard work, but it is rewarding work financially. And Chesapeake is WELL KNOWN and jobs with them are highly desired.
If you are lucky enough to get an interview with them, wear work clothes, steel toed boots and have a pair of cotton gloves and your lunch pail with you…… that impresses the field managers. and DONT ask about days off, holidays and vacations….. let them tell YOU when they are (they are fair, but when the first question someone asks is…… when do i get off, can i take off such and such a date, etc, red flags and sirens go off in managers heads…….)
Good luck….. it is a hard job, but if you have the moxie, you will be glad you did it……. and if counts? Been there, done that and GLAD I DID!
