    Unlimited …
Unlimited Immigration for an unlimited time is not sustainable. We need to limit legal immigration in numbers and to those that benefit our country, not burden it.
Illegal immigration can be stopped easily by making E Verify mandatory and ending Anchor babies and chain migration.
Without current massive immigration our country would have a stable population and higher wages. Google Numbersusa to join their 1 million other members that fax their Senators for free. No cost to join.

Yes, a lot of executives are sounding like this today. His epiphany was in 1994 when few executives had even heard the term. He began then to “pay penance” by reinventing his company. How many multi-national businesses have reduced net green house gas emissions by 71% while making more money?

Ray is a great guy. I had the please of working for Interface in their corporate sustainability and research group and have had many interactions with Ray through my close to 10 years there (sometimes too many work intensive interactions :-) . Seriously though, he is as genuine as they come. As some posts have indicated, Ray has never left his business instincts behind, sustainability has financial rewards too through cost savings, efficiencies, new markets, better products, etc. Good Luck!

    true words. We …
true words. We cannot allow capitalism to destroy this world. Business men and women alike are on a daily basis continuing on a path of zero regard toward decency and regard for life. Cast aside our weapons of fear, our poisonous egos, and deadly, negative tactics. We are children of this world, why do we kill our brothers and sisters. Destroy our oxygen bearing trees? A new beginning is waiting for our acceptance, shall it wait and wither? With it our entire civilization, planet?

Ray Anderson is a complete hero. One of the first modern day executives to ‘get’ what sustainability means in a business context, and whats more he about faced Interface corp and came out on top for doing so. Rays example is how business should be. If we have to do business, the only way should be to embed sustainability in the DNA. Thank you Ray.

    People who …
People who undertake the project of living sustainably – - they can be from varied socio-economic, cultural, and geographic backgrounds; who live in varied type of landscapes (even suburban); who may actually still use some modern technologies, even while growing their own food, building their own homes, etc.
People who live off-the-grid can set up their home economy so as to have MORE spare time than wage-earners.
Does that sound so bad? Is fresh air, healthy food, fair labor… “primitive”?

  14. gobonkersgo Says:

All I know is that …
All I know is that I want my kids to grow up respecting the environment that gives them life. If they don’t grow up with that built, intrinsically, into their persona, then won’t they be guilty of taking it for granted? Cause let’s face it, if big momma Earth gets really angry, there ain’t nothing any of us can do (no amount of cussing each other out) will stop her from wiping us out.

  15. CrossoverManiac Says:

    You know who lives …
You know who lives a sustainable lifestyle?

    Peasants in third world nations
    Cavemen
    The Amish

If you want to live that, fine. Go out in the woods and live in the woods with the Unabomber and leave the rest of us alone.

    The end of “The …
The end of “The Corporation” will offer sustainability. Private control of resource extraction and production must end. The tyranny of the Corporation should be replaced with democratic, worker-owned non-corporations. Ending wealth controling the means of production through Corporations.

Forty-hours per week within the economic tyranny of the Corporation is in contradiction to democratic principles. Systemic changes such as employee-elected managers offers hope for sustainabile communities.
