heat got turned off. just moved into an apartment. its freezing. i would bare it but the roomie is dying. so what is the main company in chicago that does the heating/gas here? i appreciate it, thanks!

   Peoples Gas and Commonwealth Edison Electric

   Run the water a trickle in all faucets or you are going to have a major plumbing problem once the pipes burst. And even if you rent, you’re going to pay the bill.

   Peoples Gas in the city, Nicor Gas in most suburbs. You must contact your landlord or his agent first, then call the city to inform them that you have no heat. If you are responsible for paying for the heat, call the gas company yourself.
