Are there any set provisions (in Company law) for how Directors are re elected? Are elections (or re elections) of Directors voted upon by existing directors or shareholders?

Shareholders elect the Directors, not the existing Directors. The Chairman of the Board of Directors is elected by the Directors.

   The whole process of director elections is a thing for the board to decide and put into writing in the articles of association.

   You can choose whatever you want.
   Personally in my articles of association I have done away with the need to hold board meetings at set days, and as 75% shareholder I can have full control over board appointments.
