Should the big three automakers go to oil companies for a handout?

December 262009

Seems like a good idea, no? The oil companies owe a lot to the big three, and without them there, the oil companies would surely see a drop in demand and therefore, a drop in profit (well, a little bit). Anyway, I know it’s a far stretch, but any thoughts?

I love this idea!

One private organization helping another? With no government intervention?

Brilliant!

I think the big three should go to the unions for a handout. It was the unions that put them in their current position anyway.

Actually, Ford is doing fine, at least in comparison to the general economy. It’s GM with CEO Blinky and Chrysler owned by Cerberus with its deep pockets that are playing the poor man act.

Edit: But, yes, it would be nice if those two looked to the oil companies rather than my tax dollars.

If they can’t make it, file chapter 11. That way they can restructure and come out of it with a better future.
